5GINED is a European project that promotes inclusive education through 5G technology, focusing on two contrasting Italian cities: Naples, facing complex social challenges, and Matera, dealing with geographical and logistical barriers.
The project aims to ensure equitable, accessible, and high-quality education in socially and geographically disadvantaged areas. Using a Hybrid Mobile Private 5G Network (MPN) and an innovative digital platform powered by immersive technologies (XR, AI, robotics), 5GINED delivers interactive and personalized learning experiences.
It fosters a collaborative ecosystem involving schools, universities, public institutions, civic organizations, and local communities, encouraging co-creation of content and knowledge exchange.
5GINED is more than a tech pilot—it is a replicable model of inclusive digital transformation, aiming to reduce educational and social divides and to inspire similar actions in other regions across Europe.










Six use cases will be conducted: i) Smart Agriculture Learning Hub ii) Health Training Center iii) Immersive Education, iv) Interactive Didactics v) LV8 Digital Skill Certificate, and vi) Robotics 4 Learning.
A connected garden using IoT, 5G, and AI to train local youth in sustainable agriculture. Real-time data dashboards and virtual platforms offer hands-on learning and interaction with mentors and experts.
An immersive medical training environment using 5G, XR, and AR for neurosurgical education. The platform supports remote learning, surgical planning, and introduces collaborative robotics for advanced healthcare training.
A mixed-reality platform enabling interactive lessons with 3D models, quizzes, and group activities. Deployed in schools in Naples and Matera, it supports classroom and remote learning, involving over 200 students.
An AI-driven, gamified educational platform delivering adaptive content via 5G. It supports personalized learning paths and validates 5G performance, while also exploring scalable business models for immersive education.
A gamified web app helping youth (14–29) develop digital skills through puzzles and quizzes. Users earn Open Badge certifications aligned with the DigComp 2.2 framework. Integrated into schools with AR support.
Combining robotics, coding, and gamification with 5G to boost STEM education and address youth unemployment. Robotic arms and digital labs support NEET re-engagement and future-ready skill development.
